Anything with potato tastes great, this is my belief. Moreover, when fresh green peas are in season, then this dish is a must-have dish for me. It tastes great and can be cooked up very quickly.
Equipment and Utensils
Wok (Kadai) with lid
Flat metal spoon
100 grams (¾ cup) Fresh Green Peas
100 grams (2 small) Potatoes washed, peeled and cut into 1 cm cubes
70 grams (1 medium) Onion finely chopped
1 teaspoon Garlic finely chopped
1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
¾ teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
½ teaspoon Roasted Cumin Powder
¾ teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder
¼ teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
¼ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
Keep the wok on medium high flame with 1 tablespoon oil to heat.
Add onions and fry them till they turn brown. It will take 4-5 minutes.
Now add chopped ginger and garlic.
Fry for 1 minute till garlic’s raw flavor is gone.
Now add potato cubes and fresh green peas.
Mix them well and cover the wok with lid.
Lower the flame and let it cook for 5-6 minutes.
Now add all dry spices and salt.
Fry for 1-2 minutes, cover it again for 2 minutes.
After 2 minutes, check for seasoning.
Till this time the peas and potatoes should be covered with spices.
Ensure that they are cooked properly.
Turn off the heat.
Serve hot with Phulka.
