Raw Banana (Plantain) Tikki Recipe
Nowadays I see plenty of raw bananas in the market. You usually make either banana chips or make some veg preparation with raw bananas. There are no popular Raw Banana recipes that I know of.When I was on the quest of preparing a grain-free breakfast menu, I thought of making these kebabs. Yes, they are grain free, vegan and yet tasty.
I didn’t even use potato, garlic and onion. Hence it can also be had as a pure Jain snack. These banana kebabs are a healthy snack to have whenever you are observing a fast. I have it with tartar dip and chaat green chutney. For a vegan option, tartar dip can be avoided.
Whoever loves chaat, will definitely like the flavor of these cutlets. Ohh…cutlets, tikki or kebab, whatever you may call them.I make all preparations the night before and pat these kebabs into shape and refrigerate them. Next morning, within 10-12 minutes I shallow fry them and they are ready to serve.
You can make a large batch and refrigerate them on Friday so that you don’t have to get up early on weekends to make some yummy breakfast. Some days you can serve them plain…other days make some ragda patties or tikki chat with them.
Raw banana is a good option for diabetic people. Since Raw Bananas contain a lot of nutrients and have a high GI index. Now let’s get to the step by step recipe of making raw banana kebabs.
