Every chicken lover has definitely tried chicken dishes from KFC. Their dishes have a crunchy and crispy texture with juicy chicken inside. This recipe is my version of Crispy Chicken. Its taste may vary from KFC’s chicken but you will definitely be tempted to make it at home again and again.
Equipment and Utensils
4 absorbent papers
500 grams (8-9) Skinless Chicken drumsticks
400 ml (2 cups) Vegetable Oil for deep frying
1 cup breadcrumbs
¼ teaspoon Salt
120 ml (½ cup) Thick Curd
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
1 tablespoon Ginger, Garlic and Green Chili Paste
Put all ingredients mentioned under the ‘For Marinating’ tag in a big bowl.
Mix together with a whisk to form a smooth batter.
Batter should not be runny.
Now add chicken pieces and marinate for minimum 20 minutes.
Meanwhile in the dish add breadcrumbs and season them with a little salt.
Put all chicken pieces on a wire rack so that excess coating will drip down.
Now take one piece, coat well in breadcrumbs and put back again on the wire rack.
Do the same process with all chicken pieces.
The breadcrumbs coating should be very light.
Add oil in a wok and keep it on medium flame.
When oil is hot, start frying chicken pieces in a batch of 2 to 3.
Fry well till they get brownish in color; thereby obtaining a crispy texture.
Fry all pieces in this manner.
Remover them on absorbent papers.
Serve them hot.
