Prawns Rava Fry | Prawns Starter Recipe
Yes, one more recipe with prawns. This time I have used big prawns. I am a hard core seafood lover. Now this blog followers must be knowing my love for prawns.
I had this whole plate for lunch. They were so tasty, crispy that I could have eaten one more plate..:)
Actually, I thought prawns fry is the best dish to go with sweet chili sauce I made. So the plan was to make ‘Tom Yum Goong‘ soup. I went to a market and got some big prawns and some medium ones for soup. As a part of soup preparation I made this ‘Sweet Chili Sauce’. Next day, I thought, now sweet chili sauce is already there so to go with it some spicy, crispy dish should be made. That is how I ended up making this tasty Prawns Fry.
For making this dish, I had cut prawns fully from the back side so that I got this butterfly shape for prawns. They cooked fast within 10 minutes. I suggest you to try this dish with sweet chili sauce. It is an awesome combination.
Equipment and Utensils
Frying pan
Flat wooden spoon
Large bowl
Flat dish

250 grams (8-10 pieces) Jumbo Prawns deveined and cleaned
30 grams Semolina (Rava)
3 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
For marinade:
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
1 teaspoon Multi-Spice Masala
½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
Juice of 2 Lemon
Directions
Put all the ingredients listed under the marinade tag into a large bowl.
Mix well to make a smooth paste.
Now add prawns pieces and coat them well with the paste.
Marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Now put 1½ tablespoons oil in a frying pan.
Keep frying pan on medium high heat.
Take semolina in a flat dish.
Roll one piece of prawn in it so that it gets properly coated with semolina.
When oil is smoking hot, add this semolina coated piece in it.
Now roll the remaining pieces and add all of them into the hot oil.
Fry for 2 minutes, flip the prawns to the other side.
Add remaining 1½ tablespoon oil if needed.
Fry both sides well till a golden-brown crisp coating is formed.
Serve hot with sweet chili sauce.
